I’ve had a week of horror dealing with Verizon, and I couldn’t settle for a lame complaint to its Customer Relations people. Write a strongly worded letter? Hell no! This is the age of information technology so I bought www.ihateverizon.org and I’m typing my frustration for the masses.
What did Verizon do that was so bad? Here goes…
I have a small business. Verizon provides (provided) phone and internet for it. Last Wednesday the phone started acting up. The first customer service call was placed. By Friday, the internet was gone too. More customer service calls were placed. Monday, the tech finally showed up. He LAUGHED at me when I asked when it would be fixed.
Turns out that there’s a cable failure and services won’t be restored until AT LEAST June 29. That’s 11 days of no phone, no internet, no way to make sales, no nothing.
So I called customer service to explain my dire straights and was told to forget any help in the near future. So I called customer relations to see if it could help. I didn’t receive my call back within four hours as promised. When I called again, I was kept on hold, given the runaround, told there was nothing that could be done, refused transfer to a manager…an utter and complete nightmare. And best of all, I was told there would be NO CREDIT TO MY BILL. Yes, that’s right. I’m REQUIRED TO PAY FOR NOT HAVING SERVICE.
So, I’m trying to figure out how to keep my business running. I also need a place to vent. I bet I’m not the only one who needs to vent. This is a safe space so feel free to share your stories in the comments section.
